Seminars
The Chamber has partnered with North Central Michigan College to offer Chamber University, an extensive schedule of educational programs designed to make member businesses more profitable. Programs are offered in the areas of workforce development, retail, customer service and professional growth. These seminars are held at various times during the year and are available to members at special rates.
Networking
Meet the business people and decision-makers of our community at Chamber events such as Business After Hours, Wake Up Petoskey! and the Golf Outing. Chamber members also may sponsor these events, creating fun advertising opportunities.
Professional Staff
The Chamber is here to assist members in any way possible. The staff includes professionals in public relations, community problem-solving and marketing fields. Our knowledge and expertise are available for your assistance.
Referrals
The Chamber of Commerce receives thousands of requests each year from residents and visitors alike asking where to find specific goods and services. Those requests are referred to our list of members first. We also provide visitors with up-to-date specialty brochures that list the area's shopping and dining locations, as well as a calendar of events. An added benefit is our yearly Community Profile and Business Directory provided free to all members, mailed in all relocation packets, and available to all who visit our information center.
Member Information
A wide array of materials and information is available to all of our Chamber members. We have a complete audiovisual library of business-related tapes and other resources. Demographic data regarding our area is up-to-date and available to our members. Our monthly newsletter, Back to Business, keeps members abreast of local and state-wide business news, and our Weekly E-Mail keeps members informed on a weekly basis. Members also have the opportunity to purchase address labels for all members, helping you reach out to 750 area businesses.
Insurance Discounts
Members of the Petoskey Regional Chamber can take advantage of Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance plans made available to Chamber members for nearly two decades. Members can also take advantage of discounted auto insurance through Auto Owners and Frankenmuth Insurance. Other Valuable Discounts
Chamber members and their employees receive valuable discounts from other Chamber members through our Chamber card program. Also, many Chamber members offer substantial discounts on products such as long distance service, auto insurance, security systems and legal advice.
SCORE
Help is available for those who are interested in starting a small business or have a small business already and need advice. The Chamber's local chapter of SCORE (Service Corps of Retired Executives) is available for free business counseling. The group is made up of men and women who have had careers as successful company executives or owners of their own businesses. Appointments can be made by phoning the Chamber at 347-4150.
