Community Cash Program Launched

Dear Chamber Members,

 

After much research and deliberation, the Petoskey Regional Chamber of Commerce is pleased to introduce to you, our members, the new COMMUNITY CA$H program. This program will serve as a replacement for CertifiChecks with the same mission of promoting local buying. 

 

First Community Bank has partnered with the chamber as a sponsor of this program which will be managed locally by the chamber. We are beginning to sell Community Cash Checks now for redemption at chamber-member businesses. The checks will be sold exclusively at the PRCC office in denominations of $5, $10, $20, $25, and $50. Special denominations can be custom-made upon request, with advance notice.

 

As a chamber-member, when a COMMUNITY CA$H Check is brought into your business, please accept it. Provide the appropriate change to the customer, and simply deposit it like you would any other check. The COMMUNITY CA$H checks have the appropriate bank routing codes and will go through the banking system like any other check. There will be no fees to chamber members who accept the checks, and no waiting period for reimbursement. A sample copy of the check is enclosed. Please show your staff what they look like and provide instructions to them on how to accept them. The actual checks have a colored background.

 

COMMUNITY CA$H will make great employee bonuses, client gifts, or gifts for family and friends. It’s like giving the “Gift of Petoskey” while promoting local buying.
