Our Mission Statement

To help businesses in the Petoskey region succeed while protecting our community’s quality of life and fostering responsible growth.

The Petoskey Regional Chamber of Commerce is a business advocacy organization that has been working for Northern Michigan's future since 1920.  Currently more than 750 businesses are invested as members of the organization and those members are served by a full-time staff of six.
Member businesses benefit from chamber services in the areas of business promotion, networking, advocacy, economic development, tourism promotion, and community enhancement.

Economic Development

Business recruitment and retention are essential to the survival of our chamber member businesses and organizations.  The Petoskey Regional Chamber of Commerce is committed to helping to nurture our local economy through strong downtown programs and services, promoting quality air service, advocating for better roads, and helping members get stronger through our Chamber University education programs.  We also advocate on key issues impacting business at the local, state, and national level.

SCORE is a major chamber partner and offers free and confidential business counseling at the chamber office.

The chamber also encourages member to member buying and selling.  As a member, you can take advantage of our RFP (Request For Proposal) form in the Members Only section of the website. This will allow you to find the right person for the job as well as promote the goods and services that your business can provide.  Other Member-to-Member buying and selling efforts include the Million Dollar Shuffle and our Certifichecks program.

Downtown

If your business is downtown or if a healthy downtown is important to your business or employees, the Chamber has one of the strongest downtown programs in the state. Beautification, event planning, parking, marketing and business recruitment are all part of the chamber's downtown agenda.

Tourism

Tourism is vital to this region's economy.  The Petoskey Regional Chamber of Commerce hosts a Visitor's Information Center on a highly visible intersection in Downtown Petoskey.  This center is open six days per week, Nov. through May, and seven days per week May through October.  The Chamber also publishes the annual Petoskey Area Visitor's Guide and utilizes their exclusive Portable Visitor Information Kiosk at major community events.

Advocacy

The Chamber prides itself on being a voice for Petoskey area businesses.  We advocate on issues at the local, state, and national level that have an impact on local businesses.  With our partnering chambers in Traverse City, Cadillac, Charlevoix, and Gaylord, the Petoskey Regional Chamber of Commerce is a proud member of the Northwest Michigan Chamber Alliance which advocates with a full-time lobbyist at the state level on key business issues.

Members are kept "in the know" on local events and issues through our Weekly E-Mail product.

Community

Quality of life issues are also critical to a healthy business community.  The Petoskey Regional Chamber of Commerce helps to enhance the quality of life in Petoskey by offering a full schedule of quality events, building our future community leaders with Leadership Little Traverse, hosting the Annual State of the Community Luncheon, and serving as a resource information outlet for key community information.
