Every Satruday and Sunday through October 31st, enjoy a fun filled hayride around the farms fields, pastures, vineyard, forests and ponds. Includes a stop at teh Trout Pond to feed the fish! $4 per person. Kids 2 and under are free.
The Harbor Springs Farmers' Market will run every Saturday and Wednesday until Labor Day. After Labor Day it will be open on Saturdays until mid-October, weather and supplies permitting. This year there will be several new vendors offering a larger variety of locally grown and produced products. Stop by while vacationing in this lovely lakeside community. FRIENDS @ THE CARNEGIE will present Larry Martin’s World War II In Their Own Words on Monday, July 23, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. in the Carnegie Building, 451 E. Mitchell St. Martin, from Jackson, MI, will give a video presentation of an interview of World War II Veteran Collin McKenzie who was at Pearl Harbor on Dec. 7, 1941, aboard the Battleship Pennsylvania manning a gun. He was wounded and hospitalized for four months. He was also at Normandy on the destroyer USS Thompson on D-Day, June 6, 1944. There will be several tables of Martin’s WW II memorabilia on display for those attending to peruse. Along with the showing of the video, local Marine veterans Hugh Winnell and Hank Ameel will answer questions after the video and share part if their stories. Winnell, 88, flew the Cosair F4UF in New Guinea and the Philippines. Ameel landed in the second wave at Iwo Jima. Admission is free and open to the public. Our new start location will be on the east end the Village of Bay Harbor, and race will be run along the new non-motorized trail between Bay Harbor and past East Park.
The City of Petoskey will be assisting us with managing the race and the applications this year. Applications will be available on the City of Petoskey Parks and Recreation website. Please call (231) 347-2500 to receive further information.
